Scholarships

In order to be awarded any Mississippi State University Scholarship, a student must complete the General Scholarship Application

This is your first step in competing for three categories of scholarships:

1. Information about university-level scholarships can be found at https://www.admissions.msstate.edu/admitted/money-matters/#scholarships.
2. English majors are also part of the university’s College of Arts & Sciences.  After filling out the General Scholarship Application, English majors will be prompted to fill out the Arts & Sciences Conditional Application to establish eligibility for college-level scholarships, as well.  Information about college-level scholarships can be found here: https://www.cas.msstate.edu/futurestudents/scholarshipopportunities/.
   *You must complete both the general and conditional applications each year to be considered for a college-level scholarship.*
3. In addition to these opportunities, a number of scholarships are available to English majors only; they are listed below.  To be eligible for these scholarships, students who have completed the General Scholarship Application and the Arts & Sciences Conditional Application will be prompted to include additional information specific to each department-level scholarship, such as essays and letters of recommendation.  Click below for specific instructions for each scholarship.
