Why English?
From an early age, I had always loved to read and write. I figured that studying English would help me further expand my love for the subject while helping me develop my critical writing skills. It also gives me an outlet to express myself creatively while preparing me to do so professionally.
Clubs and Organizations:
College of Arts and Sciences Ambassador, I.D.E.A.L. Woman, Mississippi State University's NAACP Collegiate Chapter, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and the Jabberwock Review. I really love the Jabberwock Review. They publish amazing poetry and fiction from around the world and the publication allows us to have an appreciation for life and culture through their selections.
Awards and Scholarships:
I competed in the Miss Maroon and White pageant, and I won Fan Favorite and the Spirit of Miss Maroon and White. I'm also in the Shackhouls Honors College and the Montogomery Leadership Program.
Favorite Books Reads for Class:
I really enjoyed reading Kindred by Octavia Bulter for my Intro to African American Literature class. I wasn't a fan of Science Fiction before reading this, but it completely changed my perspective because it was done so well in the novel.
Hobbies:
I absolutely adore music, so I tend to sing and write songs in my free time. I also like to bake and do community service whenever I have the chance.
